JANE'S ICE CREAM

PACKAGING DESIGN
FOR EVOLVING MEDIA NETWORK

Jane's Ice Cream company had been operating since 1985 without ever going through a proper branding process. Working with them yielded a wide spectrum of initial designs that we were able to pear down to the final result: an aesthetic that exuded hand fashioned quality and classic tastes, while retaining small artful details used by the company over its previous 25 years.

Because Jane's is a small business, we needed to solve the problem of high minimum orders for packaging. The pint package and lid is actually two parts - a base, generic cup and lid printed with all over wrap for the base branding, and then clear stickers for the name and nutritional information that are applied during the packing process. Instead of having to print 6 different base pints at 10,000 units each, they were able to print a single run of 10,000 units and then apply stickers to identify the flavors.
